CELEBRATING 150-YEARS OF RELATIONSHIPS

Three years after the Civil War ended, two Fullerton brothers put together a business plan to open an independent insurance agency in Wooster, Ohio by 1869, representing the Ohio Farmer’s Insurance Company (Westfield) and, by the turn of the century, the firm was in the capable hands of local businessman and philanthropist, Walter Whitaker. Within a decade, his son, Francis, joined the firm and by the 1940s, both of Francis’ sons-in-law had become principals (Anderson, Jones).  Just a year following the founding, in 1870, came the start of what would become the respected W.C. Myers Agency (Myers, Quinby, Steiner).  Those two iconic agencies eventually merged and serve their clients today as one firm: Whitaker-Myers Group.  With offices in Wooster and Ashland, and with separate practices in insurance solutions, group & individual benefits, and wealth management, the firm now celebrates its sequicentennial anniversary.  Join us!  If you’re a client, a partner, a carrier or a friend, you’ve been part of our story.  People.  Helping people.  We’ve existed – for people, to help people.  So, really, this year-long celebration is all about YOU.  Join us, as we spend 2019 celebrating.  We’ll include a variety of communications, posts, articles and events.  Join us as we celebrate an incredible 150-years of relationships!
